MORE INFORMATION
Parbold Music Lancashire is the title under which the concerts and musical events are presented and is the operational name of Douglas Music Society, a registered charity, founded in 1973, to present an annual season of Saturday evening concerts with established international stars, young artists and popular music to celebrate all kinds of music-making and musical tastes.
Parbold Music Lancashire serves the communities of the River Douglas Valley, but its audience comes from across the North West region. Artists particularly enjoy meeting and talking with the audience after the performance and is committed to presenting young music-makers as performers in its main season and to encouraging new audiences through its annual ‘Pied Piper’ Concerts by international professional artists for young audiences. It has also inaugurated a Young Musicians Showcase to present local young performers.
