The renowned pianist Noriko Ogawa is admired for interpretations that shimmer with colour and sensitivity, revealing the depth and imagination at the heart of her artistry. We are delighted to welcome Noriko back to Parbold.
Her visits have become a much-loved and popular part of our concert series – a testament to both her global reputation and the affection our audience holds for her. Noriko is well-known for juggling a most demanding schedule as international piano virtuoso, judge and chair of piano competitions, and multiple professorships, but over the years Parbold still features in her diary.
Noriko’s programme explores some of the most melodious and technically adventurous works – from the very personal intermezzi of Brahms to Chopin’s joyous Ballade No. 3 and emotionally charged Scherzo, to Beethoven’s challenging and tempestuous ‘Appassionata’ Sonata.
“What sets her apart from other pianists is her wonderful sense of timing, she allows the music to breathe.” – The Times
